This piece is just extraordinary! Can be worn as either a pin or pendant. The pin mechanism is very solid and works well. It features an inlaid carved silver sombrero, and below that, a serape or traditional Mexican shawl or blanket. This is all surrounded by inlaid gorgeous iridescent abalone shell. I’ve had this in my jewelry collection for years, and I just haven’t worn it enough to justify keeping it. Pictures don’t even do this justice, as it’s much more rich and has more depth in person. Marked PLATA 925 and there’s a tiny symbol maker’s mark that I can’t make out. It’s about 1.5 inches across. Please see photos for more details.
