I recently got a huge lot of (mostly costume) jewelry at a real-life auction, so I’ll be listing new pieces regularly for weeks! I believe most of them came from an antique store that closed (so many of them have the price tags from that store still attached). Please check out my other auctions. This is a really nice old piece of history! Screwback pin, marked on the back “Official B.W.R.S. and B.B., By Accessocraft. Made in New York City. Excellent condition. The front says Dieu Et Mon Droit, which means God and My Right (the motto of the British monarch.) See pics for more details. Here’s more info about the organization: The British War Relief Society (BWRS) was a US-based humanitarian umbrella organisation dealing with the supply of non-military aid such as food, clothes, medical supplies and financial aid to people in Great Britain during the early years of the Second World War. The organisation acted as the administrative hub and central receiving depot for items donated from other charities which were then parceled out to its affiliate organizations in the US and to Britain. These donations were raised in the name of the BWRS, rather than in the name of the smaller groups.
